Jesus: The Only Way

Every person holds to some kind of truth claim. The real question is not whether we have beliefs, but whether those beliefs are supported by truth. Christianity is not just one claim among many - it is the best-supported worldview, both historically and theologically. Yet, heretical views often arise from distorted understandings of who Jesus is. Some deny His Sonship, others His deity, and still others reject His very existence. This is not a new issue.
Jesus' Question to the World
Two thousand years ago, Jesus asked His disciples a question that still echoes today:

Who do people say that the Son of Man is?”And they said, “Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”—Matthew 16:13–16
This moment in Scripture reveals the dividing line of faith. Jesus didn’t just claim to be the Messiah; He declared Himself the only way to God the Father. That was radical then - and it’s just as radical now.
The Unpopularity of Truth
In our time, such a claim is met with harsh criticism. To say that Jesus is the only way is often branded intolerant, arrogant, or bigoted. But the truth of a claim isn’t determined by its popularity. No amount of cultural pressure, name-calling, or rejection can change what is eternally true.
"Peace if possible, truth at all costs." —Martin Luther
Truth has a dividing effect. Unity must be based on truth; peace that compromises truth is no peace at all.
The Non-Negotiable Gospel
Jesus alone saves. He doesn’t share His glory with other gods. The tomb is empty. He is the only person in history to rise from the grave. If this didn’t happen, we lose the gospel, we lose our witness, and we are still in our sins.
But it did happen.
Praise God for His grace and the gift of salvation through Christ alone.
Hold fast to this truth: Jesus really is who He claimed to be. Let that conviction shape your words, your worship, and your witness.
Soli Deo Gloria.
